Our routes follow safe and efficient paths to school for children in the local area. Check out our Term 3 pilot routes below or Contact Us to suggest new routes or join existing ones.

What’s On In Term 3

Walked.by is more than just getting from A to B. We’re creating opportunities to connect with nature and with each other. Each week’s walk is themed to focus our engagement with nature. We’ll further develop topics using the newly-released NSW Climate Education Framework.

20- 26 JulTrees and BushlandNotice the different trees along your route – bark textures, shape, any signs of new growth.
27- July – 2 AugLandcare & RestorationLook for signs of care in the landscape – plantings, fencing, erosion control, weeding. 
3- 9 AugRivers & WaterwaysFollow any creek, river or drainage line – notice water levels, plant life at the edges.
10-16 AugWinter WildlifeLook for wombat borrows, echidna digging, or tracks in the mud – who’s been out in the cold.
17 – 23 AugFirst signs of SpringSpot the earliest wattle or blossom starting to bud or flower. 
24-30 AugBirdlife & Bird SongStop and listen – how many different bird calls can we pick up?
31 Aug – 6 SeptWattle Day1 Sept is Wattle Day – The offical start of spring. Find as much gold as you can.
7 – 13 SeptProtecting Native Species7 Sept is National Threatened Species Day – talk about local species that are struggling
14-20 SeptBiodiversity & Bilbies14 Sept is Save the Billy Day – How many different plants or creatures can we count today?
21 – 27 SeptSpring Equinox & Reflection23 Sept – Spring Equinox – day and night in balance. Let looks back on how the route has changed over the past 10 weeks.
